ICON takes part in the 27th Industrial Forum at the University of Girona to promote tech talent

Connecting universities and businesses, a key factor in the digital future

The digital transformation of businesses does not depend on technology alone. It also requires skilled people who can innovate and address the new challenges of a constantly evolving business environment.

With this vision, ICON, a company specialising in IT solutions, ERP, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and digital transformation for businesses, took part in the 27th Industrial Forum of the Polytechnic School at the University of Girona, organised by the Patronat Politècnica – Universitat de Girona.

The event brought together more than 90 companies and hundreds of students with a shared goal: to create future opportunities, encourage knowledge exchange and strengthen the connection between the university community and the business sector.

Supporting the talent that will transform businesses

At ICON, we believe innovation is not only about developing new technologies, but also about investing in the people who will make them possible.

During the Industrial Forum, we had the opportunity to speak with students from different engineering, computer science and digital technology disciplines, sharing our experience and showing how technology can help businesses become more competitive, optimise processes and successfully navigate their digital transformation.

These meetings give us insight into the concerns of future professionals and bring them closer to the realities of the job market, creating connections that can lead to opportunities for collaboration and growth.

The skills employers are looking for

In the days leading up to the Forum, we also took part in the Career Guidance Sessions (JOL), where different companies shared the skills and abilities they value most in the professionals of the future.

Beyond technical knowledge, skills such as the following are becoming increasingly important:

  • Ability to keep learning.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Teamwork.
  • Adaptability.
  • Communication.
  • Initiative.
  • Customer focus.

These skills are essential for projects involving ERP implementation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and the digital transformation of businesses.

ICON’s commitment to talent and innovation

For more than two decades, ICON has worked to help businesses across different sectors improve their management through technology solutions tailored to their needs.

Our commitment to innovation goes hand in hand with developing talent. That is why we actively collaborate on initiatives that bring universities and businesses closer together and support new professionals entering the technology sector.

We believe that investing in knowledge means investing in the future of businesses and the wider region.

Thank you for making it possible

We would like to thank the Patronat Politècnica – Universitat de Girona for the excellent organisation of this latest edition of the Industrial Forum, as well as all the students, lecturers and professionals with whom we had the opportunity to share experiences during the event.

We will continue to support initiatives that foster talent, innovation and collaboration between universities and businesses, convinced that the best solutions come from people.

At ICON, we continue working to drive the digital transformation of businesses and, together with today’s talent, build the future of technology.
